As the contracted sales company responsible for driving sales and positioning the Community brand in Canada, we decided we needed to see what the audio specifying and installation experts in our country really thought about the performance of Community's new D-Series ceiling loudspeakers.
You've heard of a blind taste test, right? Coke vs. Pepsi? We created a "blind sound test" and toured across Canada with it. In the test, industry-trained ears of Canada's leading audio professionals scored the Community D6 loudspeaker vs. two competing products.

First and most importantly, we wanted to make sure we constructed a transparent, honest demonstration. No smoke and mirrors, no processors or hidden systems to manipulate the results of the test.
The three competing loudspeakers being tested were kept under cover to prevent the audience from seeing the speakers. All the audience had to go on was sound: how the loudspeakers actually reproduced sound.

"No smoke and mirrors or hidden systems."
Next, the Martech administrator played three audio selections during the demonstration, (two music and one spoken word). Listeners were asked to examine both the on-axis and off-axis performance of the three loudspeakers as well as rate the quality of the music and speech reproduction.
At the conclusion of the demonstration, before the three competing loudspeakers were unveiled, all audience members completed an evaluation form with ratings for:
- low, mid and high frequency response
- off-axis coverage
- voice reproduction
- music reproduction
- overall sound quality
- which speaker would you buy or specify?

The most significant result our demo evaluations yielded was that 9 professionals out of 10 preferred the Community D6 loudspeaker over the competitively priced Tannoy CMS601.
The other ratings were equally spectacular. Listeners overwhelmingly selected the Community D6 as having superior performance over the Tannoy CMS601 loudspeaker.

Look at the numbers below. We knew the Community D6 was good. Your feedback is telling us it's great!

We want to share how awesome these D-Series loudspeakers really are and invite you to request a ceiling speaker "blind sound test" from Martech.
The benefits of Community's next-generation D-Series ceiling speakers don't stop with sound performance alone. Community has made these speakers easier, safer, cheaper and faster to install.

There are a number of features in the speaker and enclosure that make life easy for the installer (such as Drop-Stop™ spring tabs that hold the loose enclosure up on the C-ring tile support and Twist-Assist™ that holds the speaker and baffle in the enclosure while the installer screws the speaker in).
The D-Series makes ceiling installation quick, safe and simple.
When you're standing on top of a step ladder or scissor lift, you don't need to risk your neck balancing a 12 lb. loudspeaker over your head with one hand while you struggle to load screws onto a drill with the other to finish the installation.
The D-Series ceiling speakers allow installers to do more work in less time, safely. That means then can go home earlier and be more profitable.
Community's D-Series is definitely worth a listen and a look.
