We have found that the major players in the premium audio market are designing and selling ceiling loudspeakers with serious deficiencies like:
- difficult to install
- poor speech intelligibility
- muddled musical reproduction
- inefficient and require a lot of power
- poor off-axis performance
If so, you're stuck buying more of these speakers and more amplification to achieve a good sounding system and you're working harder and longer to install these speakers! That's awful! Fortunately, Community has developed a series of premium ceiling loudspeakers that eliminate these problems!

Community Professional Loudspeakers has targeted the D-Series coaxial loudspeakers squarely at the audio integrator working in the premium or upscale installation market. They built the D-Series ceiling speakers with:
- contractor-friendly installation features that make it easy, safe and fast to install in the ceiling
- highly efficient drivers deliver better output with less power
- best-in-class frequency response
- best-in-class voice and music reproduction
- excellent off-axis performance
- wide dispersion coverage means fewer speakers are required in the space (making a Community D Series bid less expensive and more competitive than a Tannoy or JBL bid)
To test Community's claims about their new product, Martech took Community's D-Series speakers out to Canada's audio professionals and blind sound tested them against two other popular ceiling speakers: Tannoy's CMS601 and JBL's Control 26CT.
See the FINAL RESULTS from this comprehensive, Canada-wide survey.

The Blind Sound Test pitched three premium ceiling loudspeakers against each other in a transparent, flat sound test with no processing, manipulation or hidden systems. The three speakers we tested were:

The audio professionals in the Blind Sound Test confirmed that that Community D Series loudspeakers outsound and outperform their competition. Overall, 93.83% of the survey respondents said they would "buy or specify" the Community D6 loudspeaker.
The JBL Control 26CT did a little better than the Tannoy CMS601, but the reviews on both the Tannoy and JBL loudspeakers are dwarfed by the new Community D6.
What does all this mean to you and your customer?
Thanks to Community D Series, your audio system is going to sound amazing, customer satisfaction is going to be sky-high and your chances of earning a referral or second project will be increased.
How will the Community D Series make my business more competitive?
The Community D Series loudspeakers were designed to output high quality audio across a wide dispersion pattern. That 89% of surveyed audio professionals said the D Series loudspeaker had the best "Off-Axis Performance" prove that Community achieved this goal (see 'Off-axis performance' in the chart above).
With no off-axis drop-off in voice and music sound quality, the D Series speakers can be installed further apart and still cover a room in sound. More good news: the D Series speakers produce higher sound levels at a lower level of amplification (which is why the D Series won 91% Best Overall Sound Quality in the Blind Sound Test evaluations).
The Community D Series value breakdown:
- Perfect sound coverage with fewer speakers and smaller amplifiers
- Lower material costs for contractors mean lower project bids
- Happy customers and an increase in successful projects, sales and profits
Audio integrators and contractors are now able to use fewer ceiling speakers and amplifiers in their projects and come in with lower bids to win more jobs.
Safety advantages for installers?
The benefits of Community's next-generation D-Series ceiling speakers don't stop with sound performance alone. Community has made these speakers easier, safer, cheaper and faster to install.
Community D Series installation features:
- Separate back-can enclosure and loudspeaker baffle assembly means you can pre-wire the lightweight back-can and install the speaker assembly later.
- Drop-Stop™ tabs hold the back can in place above the ceiling tiles so you can tighten the clamps with two hands.
- Twist-Assist™ mechanism holds the speaker and baffle assembly in the back-can enclosure giving you two free hands to screw the speaker in tight.
Community designed the D Series to make life easy for the installer.
The D-Series makes ceiling installation quick, safe and simple.
When you're standing on top of a step ladder or scissor lift, you don't need to risk your neck balancing a 13 lb. loudspeaker over your head with one hand while you struggle to load screws onto a drill with your one free hand and finish the installation.
The D-Series ceiling speakers allow installers to do more work in less time, safely. That means then can go home earlier and be more profitable.
Community's D-Series is definitely worth a listen and a look.
